Tips & Tricks - Hardware Installation
Before buying new hardware for your computer system, it must be compatible with your system. If it's
new and not replacing existing, there must be space available for the hardware.
Memory need to be of the proper type (PC100, PC133, DDR, EDO, etc). Your computer
manual would give the proper type of memory to purchase.
PC cards need to have the proper bus type (PCI, ISA, EISA, etc.) in order to work and fit in the computer.
The PCI bus on the pc also has two voltages either 3 or 5 volts. Some cards can work with either but other
must have the proper voltage.
